Studies have shown that toilet seats actually harbour far fewer germs than other high-touch surfaces such as doorknobs, remote controls, keyboards, which come into contact with our hands more often in our daily lives.
Due to the misconception that these high-touch surfaces are less dirty as compared to surfaces such as toilet seats, they are cleaned and disinfected less frequently.
In fact, it is important to take note of the common high-touch surfaces and conduct regular disinfection on them as they are a possible medium for the spread of infectious diseases via environmental contamination (touching of surfaces contaminated by germs). It is recommended to disinfect these high-touch surfaces at home at least once a day.
Tip
Use disinfectant to wipe down high-touch surfaces such as doorknobs, remote controls and keyboards regularly to eliminate germs on these surfaces. For keyboards, it is advisable to use a non-alcohol disinfectant which does not remove the printed letters on the keys.
If you are currently not using any disinfectants for your home, you can try Sureclean’s Germclean disinfectant which not only effectively kills up to 99.99% of germs, but also provides up to 30 days protection.
