Key takeaways
- How often an SME office in Singapore needs cleaning depends on three things: headcount, how much the pantry is used, and how many clients come through. For most, that works out to 2 to 3 cleaning visits a week.
- Office cleaning on a recurring contract with Sureclean starts from $350/month* before GST. Need just one weekday visit? That’s $150*.
- Employers face heavy penalties if they hire someone who has no valid work pass. Taking on a helper who already works for another household is also an offence.
- A contract hands the staffing to the cleaning company, along with replacement cover, equipment and insurance. Your office manager no longer has to deal with any of it.
Short answer: Most part time office cleaners in Singapore come in 2 to 3 times a week, for a few hours each visit. They empty the bins, wipe down desks, clean the pantry and toilets, and mop the floors. There are two ways to get one. You can hire the cleaner directly, as long as they are legally allowed to work here, or you can sign a contract with a cleaning company. Recurring office cleaning with Sureclean starts from $350/month* before GST. Need just one weekday visit? One cleaner for 3–4 hours costs $150*.

What does a part-time office cleaner actually do?
A part time office cleaner works a few hours on fixed days and does not stay on site full-time. That suits most Singapore SME offices. The space stays tidy for staff and visiting clients. You also stop paying for a daily cleaner who has little to do once lunch is over.
A typical visit covers:
- Emptying bins and replacing the liners
- Wiping desks, meeting tables, door handles and light switches
- Vacuuming carpets and mopping hard floors
- Cleaning the toilets and restocking soap and paper
- Clearing the pantry: sink, counters, fridge exterior and microwave
Deep work is not part of a routine visit. Carpet shampooing, upholstery cleaning, clearing post-renovation dust and disinfection are each booked as a separate job. To avoid disrupting your staff, we often schedule visits before 9am or after 6pm. Some offices want a crew on a fixed schedule so they aren’t relying on just one person. For them, our office cleaning service runs recurring contracts for offices, clinics, retail units, F&B outlets and gyms.
Part-time office cleaner or contract office cleaning: which suits an SME?
There are two usual ways to get an office cleaned. One is to hire your own part-time cleaner. The other is to sign a contract with a cleaning company, which then sends a crew on the days you’ve agreed.
Hiring directly works if you find someone dependable who is legally allowed to work in Singapore. The catch is simple: you become their employer. You handle CPF where it applies, plus work injury cover and leave. When they fall sick, you arrange cover, and you also buy the cleaning supplies. And if they quit? The office stays dirty until you hire someone new.
A cleaning contract moves all of that onto the company. Both sides agree on the scope, the schedule and a monthly fee. From then on, staffing, replacements, equipment and insurance are the company’s job. At Sureclean, the people who turn up are our own trained crews, not workers from an agency or a marketplace app. They arrive with their own equipment. We also hold S$1,000,000 in public liability insurance.
Once an office has a dozen or more staff, a cleaning contract usually takes work off the office manager’s plate. A small studio is different. If all it needs is a quick tidy once a week, either option can work.
How many cleaning visits a week does a small office need?
For most SME offices, 2 to 3 visits a week is enough. What suits you will hinge on your headcount and how hard the pantry and toilets get used each day. It also matters whether clients come to the office.
- 1 visit a week: suits a very small team whose shared pantry sees no cooking.
- 2 visits a week: offices with roughly 10 to 20 staff often go for this.
- 3 visits a week: for offices that are busier or see clients, or where staff have lunch at their desks.
- Daily: for clinics, retail, F&B and gyms, where cleanliness and how the place looks count every single day.
Humidity in Singapore changes how often a space needs cleaning. Compared with drier climates, mould and odour build up faster here, especially on pantry sinks, fridge seals and in toilet corners. Older shophouse and business-park offices have their own problem: after a long weekend closure, the carpets often hold stale smells. Access can be tricky too. In many commercial buildings, the management corporation decides who can enter after hours. Before the first visit, find out whether your cleaner needs a pass or must be registered with building security.
How much does a part-time office cleaner cost in Singapore?
Three things set the price: the size of your office, how often our cleaner comes, and what each visit covers. We quote office cleaning per month or per visit. We never charge by the hour or by the square foot, so you know what the bill will be before work starts. All prices are before GST.
- Recurring office cleaning: small offices start from $350/month*, and bigger offices start from $690/month*.
- Ad-hoc cleaner (3–4 hours): A weekday booking is $150*. Saturdays are $200*, and Sundays go up to $250*.
- One-time office deep clean: $500–$1,150*.
- Commercial post-renovation cleaning: $650–$2,000*.
- Office disinfection: from $265*, typically $370–$475* per session.
Hourly rates for part-time cleaners often appear on other providers’ websites. They don’t tell the whole story. Before you compare, ask what the hourly figure leaves out. Who supplies the equipment? Who covers the job when your regular cleaner is away? Is there insurance? Who handles the employer paperwork? Our crews arrive with their own equipment. We arrange replacement cover and insurance for you. If it’s your first booking with us, you get a 10% discount. Our cleaning prices guide lists the rates for every service we offer.
Is it legal to hire someone part-time to clean your office?
Yes, provided they hold the right to work in Singapore and you hire them through the proper channels. Trouble usually starts with informal, cash-in-hand arrangements.
Under the Employment of Foreign Manpower Act, you commit an offence if you hire a foreigner without a valid work pass. That covers tourists and overstayers. It also covers someone else’s domestic helper. Whoever employs them can be fined $5,000 to $30,000, jailed for up to 12 months, or both, and may lose the right to hire foreign workers. The law treats businesses and households the same way.
A migrant domestic worker can work only for her own employer, and only at the address on her Work Permit. So it’s against the law to ask a friend’s helper to clean your office at weekends. Both of them can be penalised. Her employer can be fined up to $10,000 and banned from hiring helpers. The helper can have her Work Permit revoked, be sent home and be barred from working in Singapore.
Based on MOM, Employment of Foreign Manpower Act, read together with MOM, employment rules for migrant domestic workers.
How do you book a part-time office cleaner? A step-by-step checklist
Pick either route. Follow these steps and everyone knows where they stand from the very first day.
- 1. Start with a walk-through of the office and note down each area: desks, meeting rooms, pantry, toilets, reception and storeroom.
- 2. Settle on a schedule: begin with 2 visits a week, then fine-tune it once a month has passed.
- 3. Agree the timing: it can be done before opening, after closing or during the day. Your building management can confirm the access hours.
- 4. Write a scope sheet: spell out which jobs happen every visit, which happen weekly and which happen monthly. Clearing out the fridge on Fridays is one example.
- 5. Agree on who brings what: the equipment and cleaning chemicals, plus bin liners, toilet paper and hand soap.
- 6. Check the licence and insurance: Any cleaning business operating in Singapore should hold a cleaning licence from NEA. Before you book, ask the company for its licence number. Ask, too, for the details of its public liability cover.
- 7. Arrange access: sort out the keys or access cards, plus the alarm code if your place has one.
- 8. Check in after four weeks: we can change how often we come or what we cover.

When should you call a professional office cleaning company?
For everyday tidying, a part-time arrangement does the job. Call in a professional crew once the work needs proper equipment, extra hands or a schedule you can count on:
- When the office grows, one cleaner can no longer get through the work in the hours set aside.
- When the cleaner cancels yet again, it’s the office manager who ends up holding the mop.
- Fine dust settles on every surface after a renovation or a move-in. Commercial post-renovation cleaning is $650–$2,000*.
- Smelly or stained carpets? We quote our carpet cleaning service by floor area.
- Fabric office chairs pick up marks. Office chair cleaning costs $120* for each chair.
- Someone in the office has been unwell. Disinfection starts from $265*.
- Clinics, retail units, F&B outlets and gyms all need cleaning daily, and yours is one of them.

When you do not need a professional
Two or three people in one room, no cooking in the pantry, and common toilets the building already cleans: in that setup, you may not need to pay a cleaner. Often a bin rota and a wipe-down once a week will do. A home office works the same way. If it sits in your HDB flat, condo or landed house, your normal household cleaning probably covers it already. Once that routine starts to slip, or clients begin dropping by, it’s time to bring in help.

Frequently asked questions
How much is a part-time office cleaner in Singapore?
For small offices, recurring cleaning with Sureclean starts from $350/month* before GST. Larger offices start from $690/month*. Your monthly fee comes down to two things: how many visits you want each week, and how big the office is. Only need a one-off clean? You get one cleaner for 3–4 hours at $150* on a weekday, $200* on Saturday or $250* on Sunday.
How long does a part-time office cleaner work per visit?
For a one-off visit, you get one cleaner for 3–4 hours at $150* on a weekday. Regular contracts work differently and are billed monthly, from $350/month*. How long the crew stays depends on the scope you agree with us, not on the clock. A small office may need less time. A bigger one will need more.
Can I hire a domestic helper to clean my office part-time?
No. Under her Work Permit, a migrant domestic worker can work only for her own employer, and only at the address stated on the permit. Sending her to clean an office breaks the law. Her employer could be fined up to $10,000 and barred from hiring helpers, and her permit can be revoked. To get the office cleaned legally, hire a licensed cleaning company. Sureclean’s office contracts start from $350/month*.
Is a part-time cleaner cheaper than a cleaning contract?
Not always. On paper, the hourly rate may look lower. Look closer, though: it seldom covers equipment, a stand-in when your cleaner is away, or insurance, and the employer’s paperwork lands on your desk. A contract puts all of that into one monthly fee. Sureclean’s office contracts start from $350/month* before GST. If you’re a first-time customer, you get a 10% discount on your first booking.
Do you clean offices at weekends?
Yes. We take ad-hoc office cleaning bookings on weekends: Saturdays cost $200* and Sundays $250*, for one cleaner working 3–4 hours. A weekend slot lets the cleaner go through the whole office properly while your staff are away, so nobody’s work gets interrupted. Bigger jobs need more time. A one-time office deep clean runs $500–$1,150*, and where it falls in that range depends on how large the office is and what state it’s in.
