Key takeaways

  • Decluttering services at Sureclean are priced as fixed day packages based on home size. For an HDB 2–3 room flat, expect to pay between $900* and $1,200*. A landed home will cost $3,600* to $4,800*. These prices cover labour only and exclude GST.
  • How much stuff is leaving your place, plus whether we need to use the lift or stairs, and if you’ve got sentimental items to sort, all affect your final quote.
  • We charge separately for disposal, lorry rental, e-waste, and getting items to their new homes. Licensed third-party partners manage the actual removal.
  • Decluttering is separate from our cleaning services. You can add it on at our standard rates, for instance, spring cleaning starts at $600*.

Short answer: With Sureclean, decluttering in Singapore costs from $900*–$1,200* for an HDB 2–3 room flat (2 crew, 1 day), $1,350*–$1,800* for an HDB 4–5 room flat or small condo (3 crew, 1 day), $2,700*–$3,600* for a 3–4 bedroom condo (3 crew, 2 days) and $3,600*–$4,800* for a landed home (4 crew, 2 days). These prices cover labour only, before GST: sorting, organising, packing and removal coordination. Disposal, lorry hire, e-waste fees, donation logistics and cleaning are not included.

How much does decluttering cost in Singapore in 2026?

From October 2026, Sureclean’s decluttering charges are set packages. We base them on your home’s size and the team needed, not on how long it takes. Prices exclude GST and cover labour only:

  • HDB 2–3 room: 2 crew × 1 day, from $900*–$1,200*
  • HDB 4–5 room or small condo: 3 crew × 1 day, $1,350*–$1,800*
  • 3–4 bedroom condo: 3 crew × 2 days, $2,700*–$3,600*
  • Landed home: 4 crew × 2 days, $3,600*–$4,800*

Our packages are flexible. The amount of work included depends on your home’s clutter level and the sorting assistance you require. For example, a neat 3-room HDB flat with just one overflowing storeroom would be at the lower end. Conversely, a flat needing decluttering in every single cupboard, the bomb shelter, *and* the service yard would be at the higher end. We’ll confirm your final quote in writing after reviewing photos or conducting a brief consultation. This way, you’ll know the labour cost before we begin. Find out more on our decluttering services page. Disposal and transport costs are separate, detailed further down.

What is included in a decluttering day package?

Your day package covers Sureclean’s own trained housekeepers. We match the crew size and days to what we agreed. This includes:

  • Sorting items into keep, donate, recycle and discard
  • Tidying up your belongings into existing cupboards, shelves, and storage spaces.
  • Packing and bagging outgoing items, labelled by where they are going
  • Removal coordination: booking and supervising licensed third-party collectors
  • Restoring order so you can use every room again by day’s end.

Our cleaning process is organised, with set timeframes. Think of it like the KonMari method: we tackle clutter by category, holding onto only what you truly need. You decide what stays and what goes, and our team ensures the work progresses steadily.

Not included: disposal fees, lorry hire, e-waste fees, and donation logistics. Cleaning itself is an optional extra, priced at our standard rates. We do not sell items for you. Handling hazardous or biohazard waste is also beyond our scope. Work is limited to heights below 3 metres.

What makes a decluttering job cost more or less?

Home cleaning costs can vary wildly, even for identical spaces. What drives the price? Here’s a breakdown:

  • The sheer volume of your belongings is a bigger factor than your floor space. A HDB flat, say a 4-room unit brimming with items in the storeroom, overflowing wardrobes, and boxes tucked beneath every bed, will naturally require more cleaning time than a more sparsely furnished 5-room flat.
  • **Access and Stairwells.** Moving belongings up flights of stairs, especially in older HDB flats where lifts skip floors, or in landed houses with multiple levels, takes more time. Condo residents will also find it takes longer when the service lift and loading bay need to be pre-booked.
  • Sentimental sorting. Dealing with a parent’s treasured items – think photos, letters, children’s drawings – requires a gentle touch. It’s quite normal for decisions about these keepsakes to take time. We build this extra consideration into our planning, so you won’t feel hurried.
  • **Disposal volume.** More items leaving the house means more work. We have to bag and label everything, then coordinate with rubbish collectors. This increases third-party charges.
  • Condition. Years spent tucked away in Singapore’s humid bomb shelters or sealed cupboards can leave items mouldy or smelling musty. This makes sorting a slower task.

For the fastest quote, send us clear photos of each room. This includes storerooms and your service yard.

What is not included in the decluttering price?

Our day packages include labour. If third-party lorries, facilities, or extra fees are involved, we’ll quote these separately. This way, you know precisely what you’re paying for.

  • Disposal fees: This covers what cleaners bill you for taking away big rubbish items like old sofas and mattresses.
  • Need to get rid of some clutter? Sureclean can arrange lorry hire for you. We don’t own our lorries, but we’ll book and oversee licensed third-party collectors to handle the removal.
  • **E-waste Disposal Fees** for outdated appliances, computers, cables, and batteries apply. These items require proper e-waste channels, not standard refuse collection.
  • Donation logistics: We manage getting your usable furniture and clothes to charities, including arranging pick-ups.

Sometimes, you don’t even need a lorry for smaller amounts. Town councils often provide bulky item disposal for residents. Plus, those recycling bins at HDB blocks accept clean paper, plastics, and metal. Always check with your town council or condo management first. If you do require a collector, ask us for their quotation *before* you book anything. This way, you’ll know the cost upfront.

How long does decluttering take for each home size?

Our packages include a fixed crew and duration, giving you a clear idea of the time needed for the job.

  • HDB 2–3 room: one day with 2 crew. That is enough for wardrobes, kitchen cabinets, the storeroom and one or two problem areas.
  • HDB 4–5 room or small condo: one day with 3 crew. The extra person lets sorting, bagging and organising happen at the same time.
  • 3–4 bedroom condo: two days with 3 crew. Day one usually covers sorting and removal. Day two finishes the organising and storage.
  • Landed home: two days with 4 crew, because there are more rooms, more floors and often a garage or store.

Your schedule is as important as the team size. You determine what stays; work moves quickest when you’re home for fast decisions. Moving out or preparing a place for sale? Schedule decluttering a few days before the cleaners, packers, or photographer arrive. This way, each task flows logically. If you’ve a large collection of sentimental items, break the job into stages to avoid feeling hurried.

How much does it cost to add cleaning after decluttering?

Tidying up isn’t the same as proper cleaning. Yet, when you clear out clutter, you’ll often find dust, stains, and mould that have been hidden by boxes for ages. Need your home properly cleaned after you’ve sorted things out? Sureclean’s cleaning teams can handle that with a separate booking. You’ll pay our standard rate card prices, excluding GST.

  • Spring cleaning: Starting at $600*, we typically charge between $700 and $800*. This service is ideal for homes currently occupied and recently emptied.
  • Move-in / move-out cleaning: For an empty flat changing hands, either being vacated or sold, our service starts at $370*. Most jobs fall within the $475–$525* range.
  • Post-renovation cleaning: This service starts at $350*. It’s for homes where renovations are planned *after* we’ve finished the initial clear-out.
  • Mattress cleaning: Keep your mattress fresh, starting at $105* for a single size (dry clean).

First-time clients enjoy a 10% discount. Schedule your cleaning for the day after you’ve decluttered and cleared out items. This ensures surfaces are easily accessible. View our full rates on the cleaning prices page.

How do you prepare for a decluttering day? A step-by-step checklist

A bit of pre-cleaning prep helps things run smoothly and keeps your estimate accurate.

  • Step 1: Snap a photo of each area, don’t forget the storeroom, bomb shelter, service yard, and the space beneath beds. Send these pictures over to get your quote.
  • Step 2: What’s the goal? Moving house? Selling your HDB flat or condo? Welcoming a new baby? A parent moving in? Or reclaiming a spare room?
  • Step 3: Before our team arrives, please tuck away passports, crucial documents, valuables, and medicines in a separate spot.
  • Step 4: Before moving day, get everyone in the household to agree on what belongs to whom. This avoids delays on the actual day.
  • Step 5: For condo residents, liaise with management to secure the service lift and loading bay. If you’re in an HDB flat, check with your town council regarding bulky item disposal.
  • Step 6: Clear a space near the door for outgoing bags.
  • Step 7: Next, decide what you’ll donate and where it will go.
  • Step 8: On the day, please be present to decide what stays and what goes.
  • Step 9: Need cleaning done tomorrow? Book it today.

Your quote depends on Steps 1 to 3. This also ensures your belongings are kept secure.

When should you call a professional decluttering team?

Many people start decluttering on their own and stall after one drawer. A professional crew helps most when:

  • Moving house? Downsizing your space? Or perhaps returning a rental flat by a specific date?
  • Selling your HDB flat or condo? Make sure your rooms look their best for property photos.
  • Moving house for a child, or settling a deceased relative’s belongings? For estate clearance, we’ll need to see proof of the executor’s authority, like a grant of probate or letters of administration.
  • A storeroom, bomb shelter or spare room has become unusable
  • You simply do not have two free weekends in a row

Sureclean’s decluttering service uses our own trained housekeepers, not agency staff. We have cleaned 50,000+ homes since 2013, and we handle documents and photos under the PDPA. We are not the right fit for hoarding at ICD Level III and above, where HDB, NEAT or IMH can help. We also do not handle hazardous or biohazard waste, give legal or probate advice, or sell items on your behalf.

When you do not need a professional

For a single jammed wardrobe or a drawer full of tangled wires, you’re better off doing it yourself. A spare Saturday, some rubbish sacks, and your local council’s recycling points should be enough. This advice also applies if your place is generally neat and just requires a good spring clean.

Professional decluttering makes sense when the sheer amount of stuff, a tight deadline, or the emotional burden of the task feels overwhelming. It’s probably not the right move for a quick tidy of one small room.

Frequently asked questions

How much does decluttering cost for a 4-room HDB flat?

For a 4-room HDB flat, Sureclean offers a 3-person crew working for 1 day. The labour cost is $1,350*–$1,800* (before GST). The final price within this range depends on the volume of items needing sorting, lift accessibility, and the amount of rubbish to be removed from the home. Please note, disposal fees, lorry hire, and e-waste charges are not included. We will confirm the exact price in writing after you provide photos or we have a brief consultation.

Do you charge by the hour for decluttering?

No. We price decluttering as fixed day packages by home size and crew. They start from $900*–$1,200* for an HDB 2–3 room flat with 2 crew for one day, and go up to $3,600*–$4,800* for a landed home with 4 crew over two days. With a fixed day price, you are not watching the clock while you decide what to do with sentimental items.

Is cleaning included in the decluttering price?

Decluttering is a separate service from cleaning. It’s never included in our daily packages. Should you require a cleaning after decluttering, Sureclean can arrange this as a distinct booking. Our standard rates apply. For instance, spring cleaning starts at $600*, while move-out cleaning begins at $370*. Post-renovation cleaning is priced from $350*. Many clients arrange for cleaning services the day following their decluttering session.

Who takes away the items we no longer want?

For item removal, Sureclean arranges and oversees licensed third-party collectors. We do not operate our own disposal lorries. Separate charges apply for disposal fees, lorry hire, e-waste, and donation arrangements. These are billed apart from the labour cost. This labour package starts at $900*–$1,200* for a 2–3 room HDB flat. Always obtain the collector’s quote before confirming any arrangements.

How long does decluttering a condo take?

A 3–4 bedroom condo usually takes two days with 3 crew, at $2,700*–$3,600* before GST. A small condo may fit the one-day, 3-crew package at $1,350*–$1,800*. Book the service lift and loading bay with your management office in advance, and plan to be at home so you can make quick decisions about what to keep.
