Key takeaways
- Weekly cleaning leaves some build-up untouched, and deep cleaning goes after exactly that. Think of the insides of cabinets, dusty fan blades and limescale. It also covers mould on silicone and grease on the kitchen walls.
- A one-time spring clean with Sureclean starts from $600*. Most jobs end up between $700* and $800*, and these prices are before GST.
- Each quote should say exactly what it covers, so check that before you compare prices. Deep floor scrubbing is a separate service. So are mattresses, sofas and curtains.
- Look past the headline price. Weigh each package on its written task list, crew size, NEA licence, insurance and exclusions.
Short answer: In Singapore, affordable deep cleaning means a fair price for work that’s written down. The list should cover what a regular clean leaves out: inside the cabinets, fan blades, limescale, mould on silicone joints and grease on the kitchen walls. A one-time spring clean from Sureclean starts from $600*. Most jobs cost between $700* and $800*, before GST. Deep floor scrubbing, mattresses, sofas and curtains are charged as separate add-ons. When you compare quotes, look at the tasks listed, the crew size and what’s excluded, not just the headline price.

What makes deep cleaning different from general cleaning?
A weekly general clean keeps the home tidy. Our crew dusts the surfaces they can reach, wipes down the counters, vacuums and mops the floors, cleans the toilet and clears the rubbish. Deep cleaning deals with what builds up in between, because a regular session never has time for it. Think grime inside cabinets and drawers, dust on fan blades and on top of wardrobes, and limescale on taps and shower screens. It also covers mould along the silicone joints and the sticky film that forms on the kitchen wall beside the stove.
Singapore homes slip from “clean” to “needs a deep clean” faster than most people expect. The air stays humid all year round. Even in a tidy HDB flat or condo, mould and musty smells creep into bathrooms, wardrobes and the corners behind furniture. That is why most households book a deep clean only a few times a year, usually as a one-off: before Chinese New Year, after a long trip, or before family comes to stay.
This one-time job goes by a familiar name at Sureclean: our spring cleaning service. Our own trained crews handle it from start to finish, and they arrive with their own equipment.
Which areas should a deep clean cover in a Singapore home?
A fair deep cleaning package puts every room and task in writing. Keep this list beside you as you go through quotes:
- Kitchen: cabinet fronts and interiors once emptied, counter tops, backsplash tiles, sink and taps, and a surface wipe of appliances including the oven. Heavy hood degreasing is specialist work and is not part of a normal deep clean.
- Bathrooms: shower screens, taps and tiles cleared of limescale, the toilet bowl and its base, mould spots on silicone and ceilings, floor traps and exhaust grilles.
- Bedrooms and living areas: wardrobe tops, fan blades, switches, skirting, door frames, window tracks and interior grilles, and the floor under and behind movable furniture.
- Floors: we vacuum and mop every floor properly. Machine scrubbing for tile grout or vinyl is a separate job, explained further down.
Deep cleaning often gets mixed up with jobs that are priced separately. These are mattress, sofa and curtain cleaning, formaldehyde treatment and deep floor scrubbing. Exterior and high-rise window cleaning is a separate trade altogether, and Sureclean does not do it. If a quote is unclear about any of these items, ask the company before you pay.
How much does deep cleaning cost in Singapore?
What you pay for a deep clean in Singapore depends on three things: how big the home is, what state it’s in, and what’s included. We publish our starting prices, so you can compare like with like. GST is not included in any of them.
- Spring cleaning / deep cleaning (one-time): prices start at $600*. Most jobs land somewhere between $700* and $800*.
- Move-in / move-out cleaning: from $370*. Most jobs land between $475*–$525*. An empty flat takes less time to clean than one people are still living in, so this service is a good fit.
- Post-renovation cleaning: prices start at $350*. A 4-room HDB flat, for instance, comes to $525*.
- Deep floor cleaning add-on: Priced separately, from $360* for a 2-room flat up to $560* for a 4-room flat. You won’t find it bundled into any of our other packages.
Is a quote well under these figures? Look at what it leaves out. The company may be sending fewer cleaners or booking fewer hours, bringing no equipment, or skipping some rooms. If a quote sits well above them, check for add-ons you never asked for that have been bundled into the price. First-time Sureclean customers get a 10% discount. The full rate card is on our cleaning prices page.
How do you avoid paying for things you do not need?
Choosing an affordable cleaner isn’t about finding the lowest figure on a quote. You pay for the work your home needs, and nothing it doesn’t. A few practical ways to keep the bill sensible:
- Match the service to the situation. When a tenancy ends and the flat is empty, book move-out cleaning. A full spring clean is more than you need. A BTO fresh from renovation is a different job altogether: post-renovation cleaning clears the fine dust and paint marks the contractors leave behind.
- Only book floor scrubbing if your grout is stained. For most homes, a good, careful mop does the job. When the grout lines have gone dark or the vinyl has lost its shine, Deep floor cleaning is worth the money.
- Skip soft-furnishing add-ons you can handle yourself. Most washable curtains will do fine in your own washing machine at home. For a mattress or sofa, it makes sense to book a cleaning when you’re dealing with stains, odours or dust allergies.
- Clear surfaces before the crew arrives. Take things off the counters, shelves and floor first. That way, the time you pay for is spent cleaning, not shifting your belongings out of the way.
- Keep it up afterwards. Weekly or fortnightly housekeeping from $22/hour* stops build-up returning, so your next deep clean is lighter.
How should you compare deep cleaning packages? A step-by-step checklist
Use these steps to compare two or three quotes fairly:
- Step 1: Get a written task list. A fair quote lists every room and what will be done in each one. If it only says ‘full house clean’, you have nothing to compare it against.
- Step 2: Confirm crew size and time. Find out how many cleaners are coming and about how many hours they’ll spend at your place. Two quotes can carry the same price and still cover very different amounts of work.
- Step 3: Check who does the work. Ask whether the cleaners are the company’s own staff or freelancers booked through a platform, and whether they bring their own equipment and supplies.
- Step 4: Check the licence and insurance. Get the company’s NEA licence number. Then ask a second question: if something in your home gets damaged, will their public liability insurance pay for it?
- Step 5: Read the exclusions. Many companies bill extra for floor scrubbing, mattresses, sofas and curtains. Ask about these before your cleaning day.
- Step 6: Ask what happens if a spot is missed. Any decent cleaning company should send someone back to clean that area again.
- Step 7: Look at the number of reviews. Count them. Plenty of recent reviews will tell you more than a few perfect ones.
Does an HDB flat, condo or landed home change what you need?
HDB flats and BTOs: Space is tight in HDB kitchens and bathrooms. That means most of our time there goes on grease, limescale and mould. Window grilles and service yards pick up dust fast, more so on lower floors facing busy roads. Most new BTO owners start with a post-renovation clean, then book a deep clean once they’ve lived in the flat for a year or two.
Condominiums: expect the job to take longer. Balconies, glass panels and bigger bathrooms all need extra time. Before you settle on a date, check your condo’s rules on contractor access hours and lift bookings, so the crew isn’t left waiting downstairs.
Landed homes: Each extra floor, bathroom and storage area adds work. That means sending more cleaners or staying longer on the day. We don’t usually quote landed homes as a fixed package; the price depends on the size of the house and its condition. Send us a short description or a few photos and we can give you a more accurate figure.
Every deep clean should cover the spots Singapore’s humidity hits hardest: wardrobes, storerooms and bathroom ceilings. That holds for an HDB flat, a condo or a landed house. Mould back within weeks? Then the room needs better ventilation as much as it needs cleaning.
When should you call a professional for deep cleaning?
Got a free weekend, a ladder and the right products? Then you can deep clean a small flat on your own. Calling in a professional is worth it when:
- it has been six months or longer since the home’s last thorough clean, and you can see the build-up;
- a family gathering, Chinese New Year or a new baby is coming up, and you need every room in the house cleaned in a single day;
- mould has spread across bathroom ceilings, wardrobes or window frames;
- you’re handing the keys back after moving out and the flat has to be returned in good shape;
- you cannot safely reach high fans, cabinet tops or light fittings.

When you do not need a professional
If your home already gets a weekly or fortnightly clean, a full deep clean may not be worth paying for. Check three things first: the surfaces are holding up, and you can’t see any mould or grease building up. Smaller flats with one or two occupants are easier still. A few hours of focused work each month is often enough to keep them under control. Some problems only need one job, like a stained mattress or curtains that have gathered dust. You can book that one service by itself instead of paying for a whole-home package.

Frequently asked questions
How much does deep cleaning cost in Singapore?
A one-time spring or deep clean with Sureclean starts from $600* before GST. Most jobs fall between $700* and $800*. Your final price comes down to three things: how big the home is, what condition it’s in, and which rooms you want included. Deep floor scrubbing and other add-ons are charged separately, from $360* for a 2-room flat. Booking with us for the first time? You get a 10% discount.
Is deep cleaning the same as spring cleaning?
Yes. Most people in Singapore use the two names for the same one-off job. It covers the areas a regular clean skips, such as fan blades, the insides of cabinets, limescale and mould. Book it with Sureclean as spring cleaning, from $600*. Post-renovation cleaning, from $350*, is a different job: it clears construction dust and paint marks.
Is floor scrubbing included in a deep clean?
No. Sureclean always sells deep floor cleaning for tiles, grout and vinyl as a separate add-on. It is not part of our spring, move-out or post-renovation packages. A 2-room HDB flat starts at $360*, a 4-room flat at $560*, and an executive maisonette at $850*. It’s only worth booking if the grout is stained or your floors still look dull after mopping.
How often should a Singapore home be deep cleaned?
Singapore’s humidity lets mould and musty smells build up faster than in drier places. For that reason, most homes do well with a deep clean once or twice a year, and many households book theirs before Chinese New Year. Regular housekeeping from $22/hour* in between keeps the build-up in check. Each one-time clean is then lighter and quicker.
Should I book move-out cleaning or deep cleaning for an empty flat?
Moving out of an empty flat? Move-out cleaning is usually the better choice, and it costs less. Sureclean’s move-in and move-out cleaning starts from $370*, and most jobs come in between $475* and $525*. Spring cleaning starts from $600* and is meant for homes people are still living in. Furniture and belongings take longer to work around, and there is usually more built-up grime to clear.
