When cleaning will not fix it

Worth saying plainly, because most pages will not. Cleaning does not fix a delaminating backing, a pile that has been matted flat by years of traffic, or urine that has soaked through into the underlay — in that last case the odour source sits beneath the carpet and surface cleaning will not reach it. If that is what you have, we will tell you at assessment rather than take the booking.

Is carpet cleaning worth it, or should I just replace the carpet?
Cleaning is worth it when the carpet is structurally sound and the problem is soiling, dust or odour. Replace it when the backing is delaminating, the pile is matted flat through wear, or there is water damage that reached the underlay. We will tell you honestly which of those you have when we assess it — there is no point charging you to clean a carpet that needs replacing.
How long does carpet cleaning take to dry in Singapore?
Singapore’s humidity is the main factor, not the machine. Expect several hours for a rug and longer for wall-to-wall carpet in a closed, air-conditioned room. Keep the aircon running and the fans on and it dries faster. We will tell you the realistic drying window for your specific job when we assess it rather than quoting a number that does not hold in a humid flat.
Do you remove pet stains and odour from carpet?
We treat pet soiling as part of the job, but be realistic with us about how deep it went. Surface accidents usually clear. Where urine has soaked through the backing into the underlay, the odour source is under the carpet and cleaning the surface will not remove it — that needs the underlay addressed. We will say which situation yours is before you commit.
What is the difference between steam and dry carpet cleaning?
Hot water extraction (often called steam) flushes soil out of the pile and rinses it away, and it handles heavy soiling better but leaves the carpet damp. Dry or low-moisture methods use far less water and are quicker to dry, which suits humid conditions and carpets that cannot be saturated. The right method depends on your fibre and how dirty it is.
Do you clean office and commercial carpet?
Yes. Office and commercial carpet is quoted on assessment by floor area, and we schedule around your working hours so the space is usable when your staff return. Tell us the floor area, the fibre if you know it, and when the space is free.

What should I do before the cleaner arrives?
Clear small items and furniture you can move easily off the carpet, and tell us about anything heavy that needs working around. Point out specific stains and say what caused them if you know — the treatment for coffee is not the treatment for pet urine.
