What exactly is covered in a bathroom clean?

Not included in a standard session:

- Mattress, sofa, curtain and carpet deep cleaning (separate specialist services)
- Grout whitening, re-grouting or re-siliconing
- Exterior facade, or anything needing a harness or leaning past the frame line
- Cooking, childcare, elderly care and pet care
How long does it take to clean one bathroom?
Between 25 and 40 minutes for a standard HDB bathroom that is cleaned regularly. A neglected bathroom on a first visit can take 60 to 90 minutes. Below are the timings we plan sessions around. They are indicative planning estimates, not a promise about your bathroom.

How many bathrooms fit in a 3-hour session?
Here is the honest answer. A 3-hour session is not 3 hours of bathroom time, because the kitchen, floors, dusting and laundry also have to fit. This is what realistically fits.

No. Bathrooms and toilets are part of every standard session, with no surcharge and no platform fee on our side. Weekly and fortnightly bookings are charged at the same hourly rate, from $22/hour*, minimum 3 hours. A recurring session works out cheaper per hour than a one-off, because a one-off is $114* for 3 hours or $140* for 4 hours. Why do Singapore bathrooms get mouldy, cloudy and smelly?
Three separate problems, three different fixes.
Mould on silicone and ceilings
Singapore is humid year-round, and bathrooms here stay damp, and most HDB bathrooms have one small window or an extract fan running only while the light is on. A wet shower area that never fully dries grows black mould in the silicone joints and along the ceiling edge. Wiping the screen dry after showering and leaving the door open for 30 minutes does more than any product.
White cloudy film on glass and taps
That is limescale plus soap scum, not dirt. Singapore tap water carries dissolved minerals; when a droplet evaporates on glass or chrome, the mineral stays behind and bonds with soap residue. It needs a mild acid (a descaler or diluted vinegar), not a general-purpose spray, and it needs dwell time.
The smell that survives cleaning
In most cases it is the floor trap. Hair, soap and skin cells form a biofilm on the underside of the grating and inside the trap collar. Cleaning the floor without lifting the grating leaves the source untouched. Our crews lift the grating, clear the hair, scrub the collar and flush the trap on every visit. If the trap is dry because the bathroom is rarely used, pour a mug of water in weekly to reseal it against sewer gas.
Why is my HDB bathroom grout black or yellow?
Grout is porous. Black grout is mould growing inside the pores. Yellow or brown grout is usually absorbed soap residue and mineral staining. A regular session clean removes surface soiling and keeps grout from getting worse, but it will not turn discoloured grout white again. Anything beyond that needs an assessment first. In the worst cases the honest answer is regrouting, which is renovation work and outside our scope.

How to clean a toilet properly yourself
- Clear the counter and floor. Cleaning around objects leaves patches.
- Read the labels before you start. Never mix bleach with an acidic descaler or with an ammonia-based glass cleaner, the reaction releases toxic gas. Most supermarket toilet bowl cleaners sold in Singapore are bleach-based, so check yours first.
- Apply bowl cleaner under the rim and leave it. Dwell time is the whole trick.
- Check your bowl cleaner label first. If it contains bleach, do not spray an acidic descaler in the same room at the same time. With a non-bleach bowl cleaner, spray the shower screen and taps with a descaler while the bowl sits and give it 5 minutes.
- Do mirror and glass, then sink, then taps, working top-down so drips fall onto surfaces you have not done yet.
- Scrub the bowl now, then wipe the exterior with a separate cloth: cistern, lid, seat top, seat underside, hinges, base.
- Baking soda paste works well on the seat hinges and grout lines.
- Lift the floor trap grating, remove hair, scrub the collar, replace it, then scrub the floor from the far corner back to the door and dry it.
- Keep the door and window open while you work and for a while afterwards.

How often should a bathroom be cleaned?
A properly used family bathroom needs a full clean weekly. Fortnightly works for one or two occupants, or a guest toilet. A deeper reset once or twice a year keeps limescale and grout from reaching the point of no return. If you already have a weekly or fortnightly session with us, the bathroom clean is built in.
