What gets done in 3 hours versus 4 or 5?
Cleaning is a time budget. The figures below are indicative planning estimates we use when sizing a session in a Singapore home, not measured times:
- Bathroom, full — floor, walls, WC, basin, mirror, fittings: 25–35 minutes each
- Kitchen — counters, sink, hob, splashback, appliance exteriors, bin: 30–45 minutes
- All floors — sweep or vacuum then mop, 4-room flat: 35–45 minutes
- Dusting, surfaces and mirrors throughout: 20–30 minutes
- Washing a normal sink load of dishes: 10–15 minutes
- Changing bedsheets: 8–12 minutes per bed

Is it legal to hire a part-time cleaner in Singapore?
Yes, if you use one of the legal routes. There are three, and one common shortcut that is not legal.
- Engage a cleaning company that employs its own cleaners. The company is the employer and carries the employment obligations and NEA licensing. This is how Sureclean operates.
- Hire a Singaporean or Permanent Resident directly as your own part-time employee, and handle the employment obligations yourself.
- Employ your own migrant domestic worker full-time through MOM’s process. That is a live-in arrangement, not part-time cleaning.
The shortcut that is not legal: engaging someone else’s migrant domestic worker on her off day, or any work-pass holder taking cleaning work outside the conditions of her pass. Penalties can apply to both the worker and the person who engages her, and can include fines, imprisonment and a bar from employing foreign workers. Can I get the same cleaner each time?
Tell us at the quote stage and we will confirm what continuity we can offer for your slot — we would rather set the expectation honestly than promise a name. How many hours do I need for a 4-room HDB?
Usually 3.5 to 4 hours for a regular maintenance session, and 5 to 6 hours for a first visit or a deeper clean. A studio or 3-room typically needs 3 hours, a 5-room or executive 4 to 5 hours, and a landed home 5 hours or more. These are indicative planning estimates — we confirm the hours after a site assessment.
Do I need to be home during the session?
No. Access arrangements are agreed when you book — some customers are home, others leave access instructions with us. Tell us anything the crew should know about pets, alarms or rooms to leave alone, and we will brief them before the session. If you would rather be there for the first visit, that is fine too.
