An in-home ironing service in Singapore means a trained cleaner irons your clothes inside your own home, so nothing is collected, bagged or returned. At Sureclean, ironing is included in a standard weekly or fortnightly housekeeping session at no surcharge, from $22/hour*, minimum three hours. Everything is ironed and left hung or folded in your home the same session.

How much does ironing service cost in Singapore?
We do not charge per garment. We charge for the cleaner’s time, and ironing is one of the things that time can be spent on. A recurring weekly or fortnightly session is from $22/hour*, minimum three hours. A one-off session is priced as a flat block.

On our own timings a cleaner gets through roughly 15 to 20 everyday garments an hour, so a typical family week of ironing is two and a half to three and a half hours of work on its own. Cleaning a 4-room flat properly takes another two and a half to three hours. Book the hours for what you actually want done: if you want the full pile cleared and the home cleaned in the same visit, four or five hours is the realistic booking, not three.
We do not price per garment, so there is no per-garment rate to quote. You pay for the cleaner’s hours. We take bookings direct, so there is no platform fee and no per-garment charge on our side.

Is ironing included in a weekly or fortnightly cleaning session?
Yes. Ironing is part of a standard weekly or fortnightly home cleaning session at no surcharge. You do not buy an ironing add-on, and you are not charged a different rate for the hour spent at the board. You tell the cleaner where the pile is, and it gets done inside the booked hours alongside everything else.

Deep cleaning of soft furnishings is priced separately because it needs machines, not a cleaner’s hands. Curtain cleaning is $35*/panel, sofa cleaning starts at $205* for a two-seater and mattress cleaning starts at $105* for a single dry treatment. Those are bookings in their own right, not session add-ons.
How long does ironing actually take?
Here are our own working timings, the ones our crews use to plan a session. Treat them as planning estimates, not a guaranteed rate of work. A week of work shirts for two working adults, about ten shirts, takes 45 to 60 minutes. A full family week of everything, including uniforms and bed linen, is closer to two and a half to three and a half hours of ironing alone.

As a planning rule of thumb: about one hour per 15 to 20 everyday garments. Setting up and putting away the board adds five to ten minutes. Linen and uniforms are slower than shirts because of the surface area, not the difficulty.
Should I book 3 hours or 4 hours?
Cleaning a 4-room HDB flat properly takes roughly two and a half to three hours on its own. So the decision is simply whether there is enough time left over for your pile.
- 3 hours suits a couple in a 3-room HDB flat or a one to two-bedroom condo, with a light pile of around 20 to 25 garments, where cleaning is the priority and ironing is the bonus.
- 4 hours suits a family in a 4-room or 5-room HDB flat or a three-bedroom condo, with 30 to 50 garments including school uniforms, plus a bedsheet change.
- 5 hours suits an executive maisonette, a large condo or a landed home, a household of five or more, 50-plus garments, bed linen for several rooms and uniforms.
If you are unsure, count the shirts. Ten shirts is about an hour. If your weekly pile is more than 40 pieces and you also want the home cleaned, book four or five hours rather than three. Compare the two rhythms on our weekly versus fortnightly guide.
What we iron, and what we will not risk
We iron: cotton and poly-blend work shirts, blouses, polos and T-shirts, trousers, chinos, skirts, everyday dresses, school uniforms and work uniforms, baby and children’s clothes, bedsheets, pillowcases, duvet covers, tablecloths, napkins and tea towels.
We will not risk:
- Silk and fine delicates
- Heavily structured or tailored jackets and blazers
- Sequins, beading and applique
- Leather and suede
- Permanently pleated garments
- Anything the care label marks do-not-iron
- Anything you tell us is sentimental or irreplaceable
This is a deliberate limit, not fine print. Our crew are trained to set aside any garment they are not confident about, leave it folded and tell you, rather than guess with a hot plate on fabric that cannot be replaced. Garments that need specialist pressing, shaping or steam equipment belong with a dry cleaner, and we will say so.
Can I ask for the session to be spent mainly on ironing?
Yes. There is no separate ironing-only product and no separate rate. You book a standard housekeeping session and tell us ironing is the priority, and the cleaner spends the booked hours mainly at the board. The same three-hour minimum and the same hourly rate apply, because you are booking a person’s time either way. Three hours directed at ironing will usually clear a family week plus bed linen.
If you also want the home cleaned, the same booked hours can cover both at the same rate, with ironing plus general housekeeping in one visit. Putting the hours mainly into ironing makes sense before Chinese New Year, Hari Raya or Deepavali, when the pile has built up and the home is already in order.

What you need to prepare before we arrive
- Clothes washed and fully dry. A load washed at the start of a session is often still damp by the end of it in Singapore. Ironing damp clothes sets in a musty smell rather than removing it.
- An iron and an ironing board, out and ready. Have them set up the way you like them before the session starts, so no time is lost hunting for them. If you are unsure what is needed, ask us when you book.
- The pile in one place, ideally grouped: shirts, trousers, uniforms, linen.
- Flag your priorities. If the five work shirts for the week matter more than the tablecloths, say so and they get done first.
- Set aside anything you do not want touched, including delicates and anything sentimental.
Between sessions, take clothes off the drying rack as soon as they are dry, do not leave damp laundry sitting in the machine, and keep air moving in a yard-less flat.
