When to call for same-day post-reno cleaning

Renovations rarely end on schedule. Common scenarios where same-day matters:

• Contractor handover this evening; new tenant moves in tomorrow
• HDB key-collection inspection rescheduled to today
• You took 2 weeks off and the contractor finished on Day 13 — guests arriving Day 14
• Air-con installer just left, hood and stove just installed, can’t cook in this dust
• Insurance/handover photos due to be sent to the developer today

For all five, “we’ll clean it next week” doesn’t work. We built the same-day SOP for exactly these situations.

The 8-step same-day process

Step 1: Quote (within 30 minutes of WhatsApp)

Send us your address, property type and size, photos of 3 to 5 worst-affected rooms, and the time you need access. We respond with a fixed quote, team size, ETA, and Certificate of Insurance. No surprise fees on arrival.

Step 2: Team mobilisation (by 12:30 PM for an afternoon slot)

Our supervisor pulls 3 to 5 cleaners from our standby roster (we keep 6 to 9 cleaners on standby Mon-Sat). Equipment loaded: 2 industrial HEPA vacuums, microfiber cloths in 4 colours (one per surface zone), eco-certified detergents, 2L of cement-dust solvent, paint-removal wipes, ladder, and PPE.

Step 3: Arrival and walk-through (1:30-2:00 PM)

Cleaners arrive in branded uniforms, photo their before-state with timestamps for QA records, and walk you through the priority order based on your handover deadline.

Step 4: Coarse debris removal (30-60 min)

Bag and remove protective sheeting, masking tape, packaging, paper. Quick wet-mop pass on floors to clear loose dust before vacuuming. This step sounds basic but freelancers skip it — they vacuum first, which clogs filters in 20 minutes.

Step 5: HEPA vacuum pass (90-150 min)

Every surface — floors, walls (yes, walls collect cement dust electrostatically), ceilings, skirting, window grilles, AC fascia, light fixtures, inside cabinets, behind appliances. We work top-down so dust falls and gets vacuumed last. Industrial HEPA vacuums (not domestic Dyson) capture particles down to 0.3 microns.

Step 6: Wet wipe-down (60-90 min)

Microfiber wipe with appropriate detergent on every wiped surface. Glass cleaner on windows and mirrors. Solvent on cement splatter. Paint-removal wipes on overspray. Bathroom and kitchen full sanitisation.

Step 7: Final HEPA air pass and floor mop (30-45 min)

One final HEPA vacuum pass to capture airborne particles disturbed by step 6, then full floor mop with disinfectant. Floors dry in 15 minutes (we use minimum-water mops for this).

Step 8: Handover and walk-through with you (15 min)

Supervisor walks you through every room with the before-photos. Any concerns flagged on the spot get re-done before the team leaves. Final invoice and payment via PayNow or credit card.

Pricing breakdown

Prices are GST-inclusive. Same-day premium: SGD 50-80 over our standard 3-day-lead rate. Payment due on completion via PayNow, bank transfer, or credit card.

What’s NOT included (be clear up front)

• Wet cement / paint can removal: Contractor responsibility under NEA waste regulations. We don’t transport hazardous materials.
• Bulky furniture moving: We move light furniture for cleaning access. We don’t shift wardrobes, large beds, or heavy appliances — your contractor or movers do.
• Pest control: If post-reno reveals roach or rodent activity, we refer to our partner pest team — separate booking.
• Flooring polish or coating: We clean. We don’t apply marble polish, parquet wax, or epoxy seal — your contractor scope.

Why same-day is harder than scheduled (and why most companies don’t offer it)

To run reliable same-day service we maintain: (1) a standby roster of 6 to 9 cleaners Mon-Sat, paid a retainer to be reachable; (2) 4 industrial HEPA vacuums always charged and ready; (3) a supervisor on rotation who can mobilise within 60 minutes; (4) an SOP that compresses the standard 6-hour post-reno into 4-7 hours via parallel-zone working.
